Following the work by Harry Mathieson, a local family historian from Grimsby a link has been made with the group of Raynhams who appeared in the Grimsby area of Lincolnshire, England. William Raynham (R433) was baptised in Lindsey, Suffolk in 1842 and via his British Army career found himself in Grimsby where he married in 1876. His family tree can be seen on the GEDCOM link.
William can trace his ancestors back to John Raineham (R140) who was his 7 x Great grandfather, William died in Grimsby in 1893. Today his descendants still live in the Grimsby area, although a number had left to seek alternative employment opportunities. My appreciation to Grace, Jim, David, Derek Raynham, Shirley and David Russell for various essential pieces of information. |
